Playing with Stamp2Cut

Stamp2Cut is finally out and after some initially disappointing results I have got it working very smoothly.

The butterflies were cut from one stamp as pieces so I position them as I wanted and make it multi-dimensional. I wanted to try out just the Summer Seasonal Distress Ink palette.

Umbrella Man is one of the most iconic Tim Holtz images and here I've layered him over a debossed metallic background. It was coloured with alcohol ink and the I used steel wool to remove the ink from the raised areas.

CC2C Week 5 and SSS&S Anything Goes

My entry in Compendium of Curiosities 2 Challenge Week 5-shattered stains, and Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes challenge. I used a lot more than just the shattered stains technique on this tag. Make sure you view it at full size so you can see the detail on the heart and wings (Right click, Open Link in New Tab). The findings are standard Ideaology, the background is tissue wrap colored with a dabber and the new Spring Seasonal Distress Inks.

CC2C Week 3 Marbled Stains

A bit early for the 4th of July, but I thought I'd try the CC2C Seasonal Stains challenge with just a few colours, three in this case to see how it came out. The background words were done with Pumice Stone distress ink. I like the contrast of the marbled background with the sharpness of the Statue of Liberty image.

CC2C Week 1 Custom Foam Stamps

My entry in the Week 1 of the Compendium of Curiosities 2 Challenge: Custom Foam Stamps. The trick I used here was to stamp using Matte Multi-Medium over the Distress Ink Marker coloured butterflies. This acts as a resists, and I then coloured the background with a variety of Distress Inks. Add some spritz-and-flick, an Archival Ink stamped sentiment and some distressing around the edges.

Dream Tag

This week's Simon Says Stamp and Show is Show a Tim Holtz Technique. I first made the flower by gluing some tissue wrap to grunge paper and then die cutting. I coloured with Alcohol Inks since tissue wrap has a slightly "waxy" finish it takes water based inks only very lightly. I applied some Distress Stickles on account of I made this on Monday when the latest Extreme Stickling episode came out.

The tag was made by spraying a Kraft tag with Ink Refreshers and then crumpling. Background was coloured with Distress Stains, then highlighting Brushed Cordoroy Distress ink and some Perfect Pearls. Stamped image using Olive Archival Ink

12 Tags of 2012 April

A fun little tag from Tim Holtz's 12 Tags of 2012 April edition. I made some modifications from his original: The musical notes reflections background, and the Philosophy "listen" tag instead of a word stick.
